“You can’t reap what you don’t sow – My favorite part of being a horticulturalist is putting in the effort to transform gardens, and then getting to see what we’ve created together. I love being outside, and getting to make people feel in love with the outdoor space they live in.” – Ava
Ava is a plant lover and started working for CD&C in the summer of 2022. They started out working with edible plants in 2020, and is loving the opportunity to connect with and learn about non-edible perennials at CD&C. As a kid, Ava was always mesmerized by beautiful rock gardens and enchanting stone pathways with plants on all sides. Ava is grateful to be a part of the crew at CD&C and is currently really jazzed to learn more about how to install lighting in garden beds. We are pleased facilitate our team’s life-long love of learning at the forefront by educating each step of the process.
When she’s not working, she enjoys writing, meditating, going for runs and learning the ukulele and the drums.

“I continue to be amazed by the resilience and intelligence of plants. Nature does her own heavy lifting. A gardener’s work is the tip of the iceberg.” – Ben
