Jina Magiera
Landscape Architect
Sitting with happy clients in their new space is a joy. We build gardens that last a lifetime. –Jina
Raised in rural Illinois, Jina’s exploration of gardens began at a young age as she gardened alongside her mother on their family farm. From these early memories, a passion for horticulture grew and set her on a trajectory that found her studying Ornamental Horticulture at the University of Illinois (under the tutelage of legendary plantsman Michael Dirr), and getting her Masters in Landscape Architecture from Harvard Graduate School of Design.
As a registered Landscape Architect, Designer, and Project Manager, Jina brings more than 30 years of experience to each client’s garden. Her experience and skill set is not limited to one style or perspective; she has worked on a breadth of projects–from private homes and estates to urban gardens, public spaces, commercial properties, to owning her own business.
Each of her gardens is unique and thoughtfully explored in collaboration with the homeowner. Her clients appreciate her ability to quickly problem solve in the field and trust that her meticulous eye always has their best interests in mind.
Though she is enthusiastic about all aspects of design, her first love is plants, finding the right plant palette for each design. She believes that a garden should be experiential on many levels, and is always sure to add color and fragrance to her designs.
