Maryellen Sullivan

Landscape Designer

Maryellen is an experienced Landscape Designer with a  history of working in the green and design industries in the greater Boston area. With a master’s degree from Conway School of Landscape Design, and a strong arts background, she works to create beautiful outdoor spaces for her clients.

Her interest and knowledge of New England flora, horticulture and native plant communities make her a regular visitor to the landscapes of New England and to the Arnold Arboretum in Jamaica Plain. The local woodlands, sea coasts and farm lands of New England and the Hudson Valley are a consistent inspiration for her designs, as are the historic buildings and gardens.

Maryellen is also inspired by contemporary landscapes and materials and is excited to incorporate fresh ideas into many of her designs. Her design work has included several rooftops of the Back Bay, many urban properties throughout Boston and Cambridge, estates in Weston and a hilltop farm on the North Shore.

A native of Cambridge, MA Maryellen attended and studied at Bard College, the University of Massachusetts, the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, the Radcliffe Institute and the Conway School of Landscape Design. She lives in the Ashmont Hill neighborhood of Dorchester with her husband and dog Billie.

“I pour as much creative effort into a single container as a large garden. I focus on the details, no matter how small. When your office is a garden, it’s not work.” – Tim
