Perfect Garden Palette
Brookline
What happens when a well-appointed Victorian Painted Lady needs a new dress and accessories? The answer: simultaneously painting the home’s exterior and designing a new entrance walk and front garden. In true Victorian tradition, carefully chosen colors for the garden beds were the perfect way to enhance the home’s graceful facade. A Benjamin Moore color palette was shared by home and garden alike!
Working with the paint color samples, we selected plants to make the entrance a delightful swirl of ice-cream shades. Pink, blue, and white blossoms meld with the punch of lime green foliage and sharp rust-colored accent plantings.
The result? A home and garden coordinated much like a lady’s gown and glittering jewels, pleasing in all seasons: glorious with spring bulbs, sizzling with summer flowers, richly draped with fall tones, and sparkling with snowy winter structure. The formality of a front hedge provides a structural enclosure to the front yard so that a busy streetscape is transformed into a private garden oasis.
