This hidden gem ticks all the boxes for a backyard oasis: a cozy covered space, an open-air patio, and the sound of water with two waterfalls and lush plantings. And don’t forget the fish!

Focal Points

Sited to be the focal point from the back-of-house windows, this integrated entertaining area and outdoor space was designed for a family with three active children. The family was looking for a nature-based play feature, so we designed a pond with fish to engage the children, and added stepping stones and a wall in the pond area for tip-toeing access. Clay tiles placed within the wall add a unique touch. A mahogany Pergola connects the seating wall to the side of the house, mitigating the imposing back face of the house. A grill and comfy chairs offer a protected backyard space for an outdoor dining area with privacy provided by the lush plantings and fence panels.
