Curved Landscape Edging
Jamaica Plain
A full-floor level below the front garden, the landscape design of this Jamaica Plain property needed to incorporate two primary viewpoints: the walkout patio and the view from the windows and deck above. The plan pulls a visual line through the backyard as a captivating feature, including a seating wall for the patio and raised garden beds. It extends to the outer edge of the patio and lower-level planting beds. The built-in grill and countertop add function in this private oasis.
Many comment on the sculptural use of a Cupressus Nootkatensis ‘Van den Akker’ (Van den Akker Nootka Cypress) as a punctuation point, a fascinating focal point from all angles.
